Greetings!
Well, we are ready to head back to the airport for our flight to Cambodia. The last two days have been a lot of fun....
The sushi and Indian food here are out of this world; the funny thing was, we ate at a place called the Indian Hut last night...and it looked like the Pizza Hut logo! It was much classier, of course, and it had much better tasting food!
We went to the Night Bazaar the last two night, which is the most overwhelming and hot and steamy place I have ever walked through! Rows and rows of stuff... old trinkets, new trinkets, clothes, souvenirs... everyone wants to give you a special price for their things and there are twenty people selling them!
We also went to a meditation center yesterday to learn walking and sitting meditation. It was incredibly hot (do you see a theme here) but it was so calming. I felt very clear and energized after our session.
The street markets near the meditation center had so many old antiques... coins of various Buddhas and kings, old watches from Switzerland, objects made from tiger claws, tiger teeth, ivory...you name it, you could find it here! We ate near the market area yesterday afternoon and had delicious grilled beef and rice and a Singha beer under an umbrella on plastic furniture.
We are getting used to the time change. For a couple of days, we thought we weren't going to sleep at all. Luckily, that is changing for us!
Bangkok is such an interesting and overwhelming place to be. Of all the metropolis areas I have been too, this one seems to be a "big" city. The sprawl, the people, the buildings, and the overall congestion of everything is so different. But people here are very friendly, and the scams only come in small doses:)
